I bought this as a gift for my daughter, and she loves it! Unfortunately, it developed a “clunking” noise within a couple of weeks, and she discovered there was a metal piece that was bent. Per Miele’s instructions she took it to an authorized dealer who said the damage could not have been caused by usage, but the company rep was not convinced. To make a long story short, Mr. Vac & Mrs. Sew took care of the problem with amazing speed, and the vacuum is now fixed.

My daughter loves this vacuum; not only how well it works but also how quiet it is. When I need a new vacuum (which will probably be sooner rather than later!) I will buy this vacuum from this seller.

This is a good reminder to always check a product right out of the box – turn it upside down and look underneath – to be sure there is no damage.

I know alot of people would balk at the idea of paying this much for a vaccum cleaner, understandably so. Quite honestly, I spent a long time weighing my options and researching for this purchase. In the end I went with this one because of the quality, the warranty and how well it worked.

Previously owned a Hoover Windtunnel upright, and there is just simple no comparison, in fact the Hoover is joke. It was a complete tank of a machine, hard to move around, attachments were useless and you could not fit into alot of areas. And in the end, it did was not even close to as effective at cleaning floors, which is really all that matters.

The reasons for going with the Miele:

How effectively it cleans floors! My carpets never looked so good, my hardwood and tile were never to easy to clean.

Long-term investment. You might get sick of a Miele vacuum before it breaks on you.

Technology inside is second to none.

Tried and true design, German engineering and quality. The parts have a nice feel to them, thick plastics, horse-hair brushes. Nothing felt cheap, or loose or flimsy.

Exceptionally quiet.

Size of the machine is small, but make no mistake it is incredibly powerful. About the best feature I have noticed so far about this machine, going from an upright, is the ability to get into tight spaces I could not before.

Controls on the handle are more convenient than I gave credit too before I purchased. Although you can save a decent chunk of change by getting the Calisto with a knob or two instead, if you don’t mind. Same motor and power as the Capricorn.

The air quality, oh the air quality! Something we never thought important before, but we don’t smell ONE thing while vacuuming. Even if you stick your face over the exhaust! They aren’t kidding about these filters, they work and work well. No dust spitting back out into your house all over your furniture.

Some other features that are nice are the onboard attachments, the wheels on the canister that move in any direction (very smart feature), Warning lights on the machine letting you know bag is filled, or machine is over-heated. Cord-wrap is also excellent, and strong. Hard floor tool does an excellent job, simply excellent, you will never need a broom again.

I find almost nothing I don’t like about the machine so far, except that occasionally you hit the wrong button on the hand controls unintentionally.

Otherwise the fit and finish is superb, German quality through and through, a real Mercedes of Vacuum cleaners. Some vaccum cleaners (actually most) just re-distribute the dust and dirt in your house. This once truly gets rid of it. And very nice to look at too. : )

I just purchased the Miele Twist and I know how these reviews are important to me, so I hope that I can help someone esle who is considering the Miele S7 series (any model).

I researched the motors as I was told by the salesperson that the “Twist” has a cheaper motor than the Salsa, etc. This is not true. They all have the same motor – look at Miele’s website. The $100 difference is the filter and headlight. You can purchase the better filter and put it in the Twist and have the same machine without the light.

I debated on purchasing off of the web, so I could save money. In my research I found that Authorized Dealers DO NOT honor the warranty if purchased from the web!!! So buyer beware. Upon purchasing and giving it a test run, when I went to use the hose attachment it came out of the machine before I could even stretch it to full length, which is really NOT very far, if you like to vac high places – forget it. The hose attachment is much like a dryer vent.

Bottom line:
The Miele Twist is VERY easy to vac with and because it is on a petite side it can get to many little places and the swivel future is wonderful. It vacuums well, however, going over the same area with my old Riccar, I could hear it picking up debris that apparently the Miele missed. I think this machine is good, however, I think there are others that might be better for the price. I rate it a 3 star.

I underwent a long and arduous search for the best vacuum, and I finally found it. I read a ton of reviews and looked at lots of models, and am very happy with my choice. However, we’ve only had it for a few weeks, so perhaps I’ll find fault later on, but for now, my husband and I are both thrilled with this vac. It’s light, easy to maneuver and great on our hardwood floors and rugs. Even though there is no brush roller, it still works well on all our rugs, which are mostly orientals and some with a fairly thick pile. One caveat: Make sure you use the switch on the vac head to go from hardwood to carpet, or else it will make that terrible scraping sound another reviewer wrote about. Once you hit the switch it works fine, so I guess that person just didn’t notice the switch. It’s nice and quiet and also works well on cat hair. The only criticism I have is that the vent blower on top of the vac can blow dust a bit but that’s only when you are holding it at odd angles, like on the stairs. Once I was aware of that, I was able to turn it to avoid the issue. The cord was long enough for me; didn’t have that issue as others have. I love that it has a holder to keep the wand upright when you need to stop and move something– you don’t have to find something to lean it on. Overall, I’m VERY pleased!!!
