Dyson DC31: The Most Advanced Handheld Technology Review
Posted on January 30th, 2010 No comments
Dyson’s latest motor technology powers the most advanced handheld machines. The Dyson digital motor V2 has enabled Dyson to engineer the DC31 and the DC31 Animal handhelds: small, light machines with a 10 minute battery life and constant, strong suction. Powerful but portable, they are perfect for small cleaning tasks around the home or in a car, boat or caravan.Where others fall short, DC31 keeps cleaning. Conventional handhelds rely on filters to capture small dust particles, and lose suction as the bin fills up. DC31 features patented Root Cyclone™ technology to spin dust and dirt out of the air. And, with a lifetime filter and internal dirt trap, dust and debris get picked up and stay picked up. A touch of a button hygienically empties the bin when you’re done.
The DC31 offers a ten minute run time with constant high suction. Want more power? DC31 has a dual power mode – allowing you to flick a switch for six minutes of higher suction to deal with stubborn dirt, trodden-in cereal or muddy footprints. Weighing less than 1.32kg (1.51Kg, DC31 Animal), the machine has a balanced weight distribution for easy handling.
The DC31 Animal’s motorised brushbar has been designed to tackle stubborn pet hair which can cling to carpets and soft furnishings. A pivoting soleplate rotates to keeps the machine’s head in contact with cushions, arm rests and upholstery at all times, to prevent awkward arm movements.
And thanks to its Dyson digital motor V2, the DC31 is more energy efficient than other handheld motors – which waste battery power instead of using it to clean.
