Upright Dust Busting for the Geek Family

After trying out a Roomba (the low level robot hoover) a few months ago I’ve been on the look out for other cleaning solutions to tickle my “Dad about home” gadget needs.

In a break from my game reviews this week I stumbled acorss the Electrolux Unirapido. Having long been a fan of the Dustbuster mini-hoover idea, the sound of a chordless upright version sounded great to me.

It wasn’t in the house but a few minutes though and my wife’s ears pricked up and she came in to see what the strange vacuuming noise was. To cut a long story short, she loved it and now three friends have one too.

Here we have a [vacuum] that not only looks great but makes cleaning easier – meaning more time for games. The Electrolux Unirapido is a really nifty little vacuum cleaner, much more than just glorified dust buster. It is really good looking too in hot pink and white. The real joy is that it is cordless meaning you can just grab it deal with a small mess or do a more thorough room clean. The charge lasts long enough to do one level of my house (3 bedrooms bathroom and landing) which is pretty impressive for a dust buster! Dyson DC22 Cleaner Features & Review

DC24 Dyson Ball is a small, slim, lightweight upright that sits on a ball. Conventional cleaners with fixed wheels can only move in straight lines; they’re not designed to steer. But the new Dyson DC24 sits on a ball and turns with ease.

Dyson engineers have replaced wheels with a ball to give DC24 greater manoeuvrability. The motor sits inside the ball, making it lighter in hand and even easier to steer. With the turn of the wrist DC24 responds by swivelling its head to nip around obstacles like furniture, children and pets around the home.

DC24 compresses by one-third of its height when it’s not in use so it’s easy to store. Its motorised brush-bar captures even ground-in dirt and pet hair, so it has the all-round cleaning performance of a full-size Dyson.
